Code of Conduct

Respect & Behaviour

  • Respect each other, as well as everyone’s games and property.
  • If you spot someone else looking like they aren’t having a good time, try to help them (and let us know so we can help too).
  • If someone or something makes you or someone around you uncomfortable, let the staff know.
  • Don’t be overly loud and obnoxious — help keep Bastion a safe environment for all.
  • Be a good board game-citizen. Don’t flip tables, keep drinks away from games, clean greasy fingers. That sort of stuff.

Harassment, discrimination and prejudice will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Verbal comments that reinforce social structures of domination, whether related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, or religion.
  • Sexual images in public spaces.
  • Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following.
  • Harassing photography or recording.
  • Sustained disruption of talks or other events.
  • Inappropriate physical contact.
  • Unwelcome sexual attention.
  • Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behaviour.

Cleanliness & Hygiene

  • Clean up after yourself and stay hygienic.
  • Help take care of the venue. It is your home for the duration of the event — treat it as such:
    • Throw your rubbish in the correct bins.
    • Clean up after yourself in the kitchen.
    • Put tables and chairs back where you found them.
    • Use the designated tablecloths when eating at a table. Replace the tablecloth with a gaming one when you are done.
    • Keep your bunk and area around it clean and hygienic.
  • The staff team try to keep on top of keeping the venue clean, but do let us know if anything needs tidying or cleaning.
  • Use your bunk booking for attending Bastion, or for your family.
